AIAG-VDA
How it works: the 7 steps

FMEA AIAG-VDA: 2019 is the new Fmea reference standard for automotive industry suppliers that shares the needs expressed by the two industry organisations AIAG and VDA. The resulting Fmea methodology includes a 7-Stage approach, which users with FmeaNet will be able to approach to manage this new systematisty. The flexibility demonstrated by FmeaNet has made it possible to create and release a version that, in addition to maintaining all the potential and strengths acquired over time, offers a clear and optimal operational tool to manage Fmea analyses according to the AIAG-VDA. In this way FmeaNet AV accompanies the operator in the realisation of the Fmea analyses, going through the 7 required phases, in a complete, operationally simple and compliant with regulations.

STEP 1
Planning and preparation
The purpose of Planning and Preparation is to manage the project plan.By means of the test data, with the support of attachments and schedules, the project- process is identified.
2nd STEP
Structural analysis
The ideal tool for writing the Fmea analysis is the tree: Responsive and dynamic graphic tree Butterfly chart for functions and failure modes Different display options Work directly on the tree The purpose of Structural Analysis is to identify and break down the production system into Process Components, Phases and Work Elements.
STEP 3
Functional Analysis
The purpose of Functional Analysis is to ensure that product/process functions/requirements are appropriately assigned.
STEP 4
Failure Modes Analysis
The purpose of the Modes of Failure analysis is to identify the ways, effects and causes of failures and to show their relationship to allow risk analysis.
STEP 5
Risk analysis
The purpose of Risk Analysis is to estimate risk by assessing Severity, Probability and Detectability, in order to prioritise the need for actions.
6TH STEP
Optimization
The purpose of the Optisation is to establish actions to mitigate risks and assess the effectiveness of those actions.
STEP 7
Documenting the results
The purpose of the Results Documentation phase is to summarise and communicate the results of the Analysis carried out. On FmeaNet the results are highlighted on video and in template format with Excel®.
